Bible Orbit is designed to help users read Scripture, track progress, and participate in Orbit reading groups. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
When you create or use a Bible Orbit profile, we may collect:
- Name, optional profile picture, and email address provided during account creation, profile updates, or sign-in.
- Authentication information needed to verify access to your account.
- Preferred app language, preferred Bible translation, and theme preferences.
- Reading progress, completion history, completion seals, wisdom points, streaks, notes, bookmarks, and related profile settings.
- Orbit group membership data, invite codes, group progress, and shared rhythm status.
- Technical logs or diagnostics used to maintain reliability and troubleshoot sign-in, syncing, or app performance.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and maintain your Bible Orbit profile.
- Verify your identity through email authentication or Google Sign-In when selected.
- Sync reading progress, completion seals, notes, bookmarks, points, and profile settings across supported devices.
- Enable Orbit group features such as invites, shared rhythm, accountability views, and group progress.
- Maintain app security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability.
Services Used to Run Bible Orbit
Bible Orbit currently uses Supabase to store profile and progress data, Resend to send verification emails, Google Sign-In when a user chooses Google authentication, and static hosting services to provide public web pages such as this Privacy Policy.
These service providers process the minimum information needed to authenticate users, deliver verification messages, keep app data in sync, and operate Bible Orbit.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited situations:
- With service providers that help operate Bible Orbit.
- With members of your selected Orbit group when the feature is designed to show shared progress, group participation, or accountability data.
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Bible Orbit or others.
Data Storage and Security
Profile and progress data may be stored locally on your device and remotely in backend systems so your experience can continue between sessions and supported devices. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted transport where applicable, to help protect user information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain profile and progress data while your account remains active or as needed to provide Bible Orbit features. You may request deletion of your account and associated profile data by contacting us. Some limited records may be retained if necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
Your Choices
You may sign out of the app, update your language, translation, and theme preferences, and manage supported profile settings inside Bible Orbit. You may also contact us to ask privacy questions or request account deletion.
Children's Privacy
Bible Orbit is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date shown above. Continued use of Bible Orbit after an update means the updated policy applies.
